Get tips on ageing disgracefully as touring show hits Sudbury

Suffolk theatre shows

Coming this April to The Quay Theatre in Sudbury – a show about ageing in all its glory.

‘Too Young to Stay In, Too Old to Go Out’ is written and performed by actor, lyricist and writer (and former barrister), Nigel Osner, and takes a look at the pleasure and setbacks which come with the realisation you can no longer call yourself ‘young’.

Described as “witty, bitchy, achingly sad and strangely uplifting” in Broadway Baby, the show is, of course, relatable for those who have reached a grand old age, but it also offers a glimpse at what is to come for those not quite there yet.

After all, ageing happens to us all!

Packed full of original stories and songs, and featuring one performer and just five chairs, this touring stage production takes an entertaining look at dating, love, work, holidays, the gym and sex as a mature person, while offering a few ways to still enjoy life and tips on ageing disgracefully.

First performed in 2018, it is the directorial debut of Janine Wood - a singer, songwriter and actor with an diverse stage and screen career including recent appearances in ‘Silent Witness’, ‘Waterloo Road’ and ‘Innocent’.

We say…

It’s always good to see something interesting and a bit different, and with tickets just £15 each, it is worth a look.

Too Young To Stay In, Too Old To Stay Out is at The Quay Theatre in Sudbury on April 23.
