Pali & Jay’s Ultimate Asian Wedding DJ Roadshow

What do a Vauxhall Corsa, an LED dance floor, Coke Zero, and Asian music have in common? Well, they’re all wrapped up in this latest show at the New Wolsey, which features a host of tracks in an intimate setting, where you’re close to the action and even have the chance to get on the dance floor.

It’s Pali and Jay’s latest Punjabi wedding gig - their make-or-break moment. 

The duo are determined to climb the internet search rankings as Southall’s 19th best DJs, a badge of honour worn with pride as they strive for double bookings and the last tile of their ultimate dance-floor.

As they adjust the crossfaders, they must work together to save more than their reputation; their dreams and the fragile thread that ties them together—their bromance.

The pair traverse a roller coaster of emotions as they fine tune their PA system and traverse through periods of doom and gloom … and fun and laughter at the other end of the spectrum. Throw in a divorce letter from Pali’s wife and the “old school” DJ’s passion for transporting his equipment around in his Vauxhall Corsa, and there’s a quirky, madcap 60 minutes that’s totally fresh and original with the odd punchline in the mix.

Their Fantas(tick) Events roadshow is a vibrant, energetic, and often heartwarming story, where Pali tells the story of his life’s work as a DJ, how he met his wife at a gig at Brunei University in 1994, and of Southall’s Biggest Deck of 1999 competition where he was a finalist.

Sadly, Pali falls out big style with Jay and tells him “take your wages and go” - revealing that his long-lost dad had runaway to Spain and now has two daughters - before they finally reunite and drink a toast to themselves…with Coke Zero.

The end of the performance comes too soon but there’s still time to get up and dance to Pali and Jay’s Ultimate Wedding Roadshow.

The show is on on tour until November, also calling at the Kings Head in London, Warwick Arts Centre, the Octagon in Bolton, New Wycombe Swan and the Soho Theatre, London.
